The Regimen Giveaway Wrap-up

Isn’t it crazy how one thought can lead to another?  The Regimen giveaway I hosted from the 7th to 17th of January closed last Monday evening.  And when I tried to log in to post my wrap up / retrieve the emails of entrants, I found myself suddenly thinking about how lucky I was to have unrestricted internet access.

You see, last week I found myself once again travelling for work, this time to Beijing.  And, guess what?  Twitter access is blocked in China.  And this site has a Twitter feed.  So yep, access to my website was blocked by the People’s Republic.  Meanwhile, I *was* able to squeeze in two Regimen workouts while in China, as well as a great 70 minute session on the gym bike.  Thank goodness The Regimen was not blocked!

So from giveaways to appreciating internet freedom, I want to use this post to thank everyone who participated in The Regimen giveaway.  It was the first giveaway I hosted on BeatingLimitations, and also one I was really pleased to associate with, as I am enjoying the product so much.

Where do you do strength, stability and core workouts?

As a refresher, to enter the contest comments were requested, answering where the craziest place is that entrants have done core workouts, or where entrants would do them.  There were some great replies:
– hotel rooms while travelling
– on the subway
– the bathroom
– the living room
– the kitchen
– push ups at the bar (!)
– the office
– the elevator (talk about a plank challenge – 8 stories worth of plank!)
– the playground

Also Cindy mentioned she uses a dynadisc in the bathroom while brushing her teeth.  Instantly I remembered that I have one of these lurking in my house. Unopened.  What a great prompt.

Years ago a physio recommended that I use a wobble cushion to build strength in my ankles, and to work on balance and proprioception.  He even said to put it in my bathroom and to stand on it while brushing my teeth.  Thanks to the contest, I am now trying to find mine to incorporate the disc into my routines.

The Winners

On offer was one month of access to The Regimen.

Although all the entries were great, a winner had to be selected.  Or in this case, two.  After reading the entries Katie decided to giveaway a second trial to The Regimen.

I hope Ashley and Renee enjoy using their free one month trial – and I welcome their thoughts to be included as a follow up to my review of the programme.

Next Giveaway

I have a few more giveaways lined up.  So stay tuned!  And thanks for sharing your thoughts about core / plyometric workouts.  There are some great ideas, which go to show that you don’t need a fancy gym to get the benefits of a good workout!
